The Rioja Gran Reserva MANZANOS has a medium-intense garnet color. It exudes deep, balsamic oak aromas of dried plums, liquorice and sweet spices such as cloves, tobacco and cedar. With smooth and elegant tannins and well-integrated body and acidity.
Made from a great selection of grapes from our vineyards in Rioja del Reyno in Azagra and San Adrián, complemented by Grenache grapes from the higher areas of Yerga in Aldeanueva de Ebro. The vines are over 50 years old and are planted on south-facing slopes with clay-calcareous soils. The grapes come from exclusive vineyards known for their freshness and concentration.
Fermentation (max. 25°C) in small stainless steel tanks with five pump-overs per day and a 14-day maceration. Aging for 4-6 years in French and American oak barrels for complete integration of wine and oak. Clarification in concrete tanks for several months. At least 36 months in 4-6 year old French and American oak barrels. Bottle aging: At least 2 years.
Goes well with BBQ meat, stews, game and lamb dishes.
