The Ripassa Valpolicella Superiore from Zenato is a characterful red wine cuvée from the Valpolicella Ripasso region. In the glass it shows a deep ruby red and unfolds aromas of black cherries, plums as well as spicy nuances and hints of rum pot, which are due to the appassimento process.
On the palate, the wine is juicy and smooth, complemented by notes of coffee, liquorice and almond, which lead to a long, elegant finish.
The cuvée of Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta matures for 24 months in barriques, after a second fermentation on Amarone pomace, and then for 6 months in the bottle.
