Gotinsprun DAC 2016 Cuvée, Barrique - Walter Glatzer

The Cuvée Gotinsprun from the Walter Glatzer winery was named Göttlesbrunn in honour of the old name of the municipality, which was first mentioned in documents in 1083 and means “fountain of the Gotini” (Gotini was the wife of the village’s founder).

For our local red wine, only the ripest and highest quality grapes of the Blaufränkisch, Merlot and Syrah varieties are used. The proportion of the individual varieties changes depending on the vintage, with Blaufränkisch (at least 50%) and Merlot (approx. 30%) making up the majority.

Origin & soil: Carnuntum wine-growing region, sandy-loamy and loamy soils

Vinification & Aging: 3 weeks maceration, then 16-18 months in barrique

Food recommendation: the best cuts of beef and lamb, roasted or grilled, as well as venison, wild boar and deer
