Klara Marić – Traditional Pasta from Istria
Klara Marić and her husband Drago have been running a successful production of traditional Istrian pasta since 1987. Their passion for homemade pasta, shaped by family traditions, is particularly evident in the production of fuži and tagliatelle. Both products are made from high-quality durum wheat and fresh eggs using traditional methods.
Fuži are Istria's most famous pasta, formed from dough diamonds that are traditionally served with dishes such as chicken goulash (Žgvacet). The family production produces around two million pieces of fuži every day.
Tagliatelle No.5, inspired by an Italian legend, is made by rolling out the dough in the traditional way. This method gives the pasta a rough texture that absorbs sauces optimally. Marić is the only manufacturer in Croatia that produces the tagliatelle “Matasse”.
