The château, a former Benedictine monastery from the 16th century, is located on the left side of the Ebro valley in the middle of the 400 hectares of vineyards that were planted directly around the château, so that the grapes have a short journey from the vine to the cellar. Barón de Ley only uses its own grapes, so it is a producer-bottled wine. Barón de Ley also has permission to grow Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and to mix them with the classic Tempranillo grapes.
